FACES! With Lynne Douglas

The goal for the FACES class is for each student to make 3 or more different faces using a variety of techniques. The faces can be happy, sad, scary, angry, crazy, weird, or a split personality, (using a zipper).The first 2 sessions will be devoted to making a variety of faces. The last class we will use countless embellishments, quilting stitches and finish each quilt face off with a different technique.

I will demonstrate the use of Angelina fibers, couching and some free motion stitches. Instead of searching for various items, I will have a package for everyone with face patterns, rick rack, extra fabric, ribbons, buttons, beads, many eyes, cheeks, yarn, and hair. There will be a $15.00 supply fee.

This should be a fun class.

     

Supply List for FACES!

*NO SEWING MACHINE FOR CLASS 1*

- $15 supply fee, paid directly to instructor
- 6-8 Fat Quarters of fabric
- Fabric scraps that may have circles, waves, flowers, etc.
- 1-2 zippers
- Pencil
- Small sharp scissors
- Regular sewing supplies: cutting mat, rotary cutter, pins
- Glue: glue stick or Aileen's Tacky glue, roxanne's glue
- Any yarns or cords that you have, Not necessary to buy any

Class 2 and 3

- Sewing machine in good working order
- Sewing machine feet for straight stitching, zig zag and free motion.
- Needles 80/12 or 90/14 Topstitch or Metallic
- Batting and backing for class 2 and 3
- Threads, I love Aurifil. The shop has a wonderful variety of threads and colors. If you have metallic thread, bring it with you.
- If you have any old earrings, or pins, bring them.
