The Basics of drafting pockets into your clothes: Patch and Side Seam.
Bring garments you'd like to add pockets to and you'll follow step by step how to with our instructor.
Garments Appropriate for Side Seam pockets:
- PJ Pants
- Knee length or longer skirts
- Must have seams on side of garment
Garments Appropriate for patch pockets:
- Tee Shirts
- Blouses
- Simple Dresses
- Must have flat/blank area
* Woven projects are preferred.
You will also need to bring:
- 1/4 of a yard of 44" wide fabric per garment. Pick a fabric that will act as your pocket lining or patch pocket. This can be a contrasting or matching fabric.
- A machine in working order
- Thread
- Fabric Scissors
- Pins
Your instructor will contact you before class to ask about what you plan to bring. To facilitate this, ahead of time you can send a picture of the garments to allegra@sewingmachineshop.com.
