This is a fun class for a confident beginner as well as an advanced student. The octopus will give you a chance to "break loose" and use lots of colors and try new color combinations. There are no rules or rulers in the class until the very end. Your octopus can have 8 tentacles or as many as 20!
Lynne will teach couching using threads, cords, and ribbons with a variety of threads. The Sewing Machine Shop has all the threads you need available for purchase. No one leaves Lynne's class without thinking of fabric in a new way. Which fabric is good for eyes, tentacles, hair, or water? In addition, Lynne will teach how to effectively use tulle and how to face a quilt. At the end she will demonstrate a variety of machine quilting stitches to finish your quilt.

Instructor: | Lynn Douglas |
Instructor Bio: | I am Lynne Douglas and I have been quilting for about 25 years. Every few years I pick a different animal or object and create a series of quilts with that in mind. In the past I have done chickens, roosters, cows, giraffes, owls, various flowers, and camper vans. Every quilt has lots of unexpected surprises hidden in them. I have used candy wrappers, coffee lids, paper, ribbons, bridal tulle, rattail and more. |
